My fascination with modern technology began when I was about six years old.
I often marveled at how I could control little Mario with such precision, making him walk, run, hop, and fly to rescue the princess in distress. I ensured he collected all the coins and power mushrooms along the way. Even at that young age, I understood that the magic was inside my Nintendo gaming console.
As I grew older, my curiosity drove me to open up and explore all my favorite tech and toys. I loved examining the intricate circuits, motors, LEDs, cables, and controls, often marveling at the simplicity and elegance of their designs.
My elder brother was my partner in these explorations, helping me reassemble most of the gadgets. The ones we couldn't fix were discreetly discarded. 😁
My passion for computers and design continued to grow over the years. I transitioned from Computer Science to Multimedia Computing and earned a master’s degree. This journey taught me how to create exceptional software and websites with user-centered design in mind.
While modern technology is everywhere, even simple tasks can be challenging. For instance, adjusting the car temperature without fogging the windshield can be tricky. Why isn't there a winter car mode? And why does my smart TV have 40 buttons when fewer would suffice?
These questions sparked my interest in User Experience (UX) Design. I pursued a UX Design certificate at BrainStation London, where I learned from industry experts about user research and effective design.
I am always grateful for my teachers, past and present, and believe they deserve credit for my success. I am excited to continue learning because there is always more to discover!
I have worn many hats and worked multiple jobs, having the pleasure of collaborating with amazing people and learning from them. Each experience has enriched my journey as a UX/UI designer. In every role, I pursued my passion for exploring new ideas and staying adaptable in our ever-changing world.
My longest-running role as an Information Communication Technology (ICT) Advisor at the University for the Creative Arts helped me hone my skills in IT, graphic design, and creative problem solving.
Now, as a UX/UI Designer, I'm eager to dive deeper into research and design, particularly in AR and VR technology. I thrive in agile environments with fast-paced projects and aim to contribute to a company dedicated to positive environmental and social impact.
